Summer Skin Health

The summer sun and sea air can be amazing for our skin but it can also wreak havoc. So many elements that we come into contact with during the hotter months can really have a negative effect on our skin so we have to be mindful of a few simple ways to keep it healthy.

Here are a few of my favourite ways to take care of your skin this summer:

Exfoliate: Every time I exfoliate my skin, I am in awe at how soft and rejuvenated it feels. My favourite face exfoliator is hands down Robi Luxury Skin Care’s Face Scrub . When it comes to the rest of my body, I like making my own exfoliator with used coffee grounds and coconut oil.

Sunscreen: Do I even have to talk about this one? Seriously, people. If you’re going to be outside, sunscreen all day, every day.

Minimal makeup: Let your skin BREATHE a little this summer!

Water: Hydration is always important, but it’s especially important during these hot summer days. Find some way to track your water intake and make sure you either meet your goal or surpass it every day!

Colder showers: I feel like we just naturally set the temperature a little cooler when we shower during the summer and your skin is grateful for it. Cooler water allows for your natural, healthy oils to remain in your skin (and hair!)

Skin friendly foods: These include sunflower seeds, walnuts, fatty fish, avocados, sweet potatoes, bell peppers, broccoli, tomatoes, green tea, watermelon & almonds!
